  • Captain Sensible is gay

  • @Acephalic66 Trust me. The paradox between Sensible's Happy Talk BBC persona and what REALLY went on in The Damned was what got me into that band.

  • Oh no... Johnny Rotten had done an advert for butter and the captain for breakfast cereals. What come up next? Some old clips with GG Allin for toilet paper or Patti Smith for Wonderbra??

  • Wot the fuck

  • @FuksOfFukinIndians the damned were a pop group with punk agression- they never had a stance on "selling out"- if this was joe strummer id have a problem its the damned who were more about fun and not taking it too seriously- considering the captain squatted for years in near poverty i have no problem with him earning a little dough!

  • @catblanket14uk

Oh Yes... Jimi Hendrix Start is a digital must. Remember his rendition of Relax (Bit of a stretch) and the Branflakes ad. Cricket In The Jungle and of course, Our Souls To You?

"Wot, no meat, could've had a cockroach?"

  • Jeez! I cornered the captain before a Cathouse gig in Glasgow (circa 2000) and I asked him who he was calling on the public payphone before heading to the soundcheck!

He said it was his auntie and instantly I thought it must have been some Scottish bird that he looked up whenever he was here!

According to this advert, I must have been wrong!

I guess I had better swot up on my Damned histrionics!

  • hahahahaha!!!

  • That lady really is Captain Sensible's auntie. I even remember my Mum telling me that as we watched that advert. In fact the ad is where I first heard the tune Puffin' Billy.
