I finally got to play with the new Coke Freestyle soda dispenser at the Firehouse Subs next to Georgia Tech (GT) - just a few blocks from Coca Colas headquarters. This thing dispenses over 100 different combinations. Some you can't get in the store. It's pretty easy to figure out how they did this. The basic drinks are loaded and there are some standard flavor shots that they use across multiple brands. For example, you can get the peach flavor shot in Disana water, Sprite, Poweraide, Fanta, Fanta Zero ... and so on. I think this machine is brilliant. As I watched people using the machine (mostly Georgia Tech students) I noticed that because there are so many combinations, people have a hard time making a decision. I guess over time the wait to use the machine will be shorter. Having only one dispenser did cause a small line to form of anxious customers.
At any rate, here is a short video of me going through the menus of several drinks. You've probably seen this before with other video makers. I opted for the Fanta Zero Peach - pretty good stuff!
