I remember being in 8th grade an half of my classes being empty and the teachers not telling us why, everyone was worried, and afraid.. Finally they made an announcement that there was a national disaster (not telling us what happened though) we were on lock down and not allowed to leave the rooms until further notice, parents picked us up fastly and finally my mom picked me up. My dad is in the Air Force and was near the pentagon that morning, my mom and I were worried but luckily he is ok...

I filmed some stuff in Brooklyn that day and was up on the Williamsburg bridge as far as they would let me go. People were stunned. There was just smoke and dust where these huge buildings were. To me it was totally surreal because I had been going there every day. I felt kind of numb about it, and still do. I totally could have died though. I had to fight to get out with recommendations from the law firm because they wanted me to stay another year, and so did my parents.

I was actually working in the WTC as a legal assistant but I quit two weeks before 9/11... I was supposed to go in that morning to meet my banker to transfer my Citibank accounts because I was moving back to Milwaukee, but I overslept. The whole thing was pretty shocking, but one of the reasons I quit was because I didn't like working in such a tall building that had already been attacked. I don't want to say I had premonitions, but I certainly recognized the risk working there.

In Aug. 2001 a friend from Israel visited. She does some reporting there.She was upset because airport security was not improved. Israeli intelligence warned the US that Arab Terrorists planned to Hijack US planes and use them like bombs to take out US targets.The us had enough time before Aug. to improve security. I know the metal detectors then did not beep my full metal hip replacement. now they do.
