I have this awesome pedal, actually if u know how to use it you can have 5 totally different effects:
+Wah
+Octav (2 types)
+Warm smooth bass
+Distor (4 types)
+Synth (5 types)
best bass pedal ever!

Nice! I'm a bassist myself and am considering getting this pedal for some of the stuff that I do. I've read some of the online reviews and it seems to be half & half- some people like it, some dont, but some say it has a lot of problems and quits working after a while (and not due to the batteries going dead). Have you had any problems with it yourself?

hoo dat babby?

Man you are really great at reviewing. I wish all other youtubers would sort out there review technique. Well done sir. PS. I really want this pedal now.

can you play chords with this one?

Just ordered one of these.. can't wait to have a play with it :)

@7Ashura7 i suggest an electro-harmonix qtron or micro qtron for envelope filter stuff, this pedal is more of a synth pedal more than anything
I own the bass synth that Boss made and I only found one of two good settings(one is an auto wah and the other is a fuzz). I'm happy to be able to even use it in one of our songs.
I'm considering buying this pedal and using both pedals at once to get some crazy tones. This one seems to have more useful synth tones than the boss.

@pwhite102 I've never owned the Boss version, but I have used it a couple of times. I definitely think the Digitech has more useful sounds. That said, I don't use it very often in a band context. I like it better than the Boss, but still think synth bass is a pretty infrequent effect, unless you write songs specifically to include it.

Very informative review. I myself am an aspiring bassist looking for the perfect slap tone, and I was wondering. What amp are you using in this video? Even before the application of the envelope/wah, effect, your setup had some pretty good tones when slapping.

@7Ashura7 The amp is a circa 1971-ish era Fender Princeton Reverb. It's a guitar amp. I'm glad you like the slap tone with it. But, obviously, it's only suited to low volume demos. I use a Hartke 3500 with a Hartke 4x10 and 1x15 cab live. I run a Tech21 Bass Driver in front of it. I'm pretty happy with the tones on that.

Do you know if you can use this bass synth pedal with a regular 6 string electric guitar? Because I have a bass and wanted to know if I could this pedal for the guitar as well.

@XxXS1D3SW1P3XxX Sure. It works great with regular 6 string guitars. I actually tested the non-bass Digitech Synth Wah with a guitar and honestly the Bass Synth Wah works just as well. I couldn't detect a ton of difference between them.
