At town hall meetings across the country, House Republicans are facing a citizen backlash like never before for voting to end Medicare but give more reckless tax cuts to millionaires and billionaires.
But we can’t let up now. The same shadowy right-wing special interest groups that flooded the airwaves last fall are back with ads praising Republicans and misleading seniors about the GOP’s outrageous plan to end Medicare. We cannot let these vicious lies stand.
support defunding Congressional health benefits. we can't get it so congress should have to pay for their own. that will help cut the budget. call your congress person and tell them to give up their healthcare plan WE pay for.
People basically live too long-remove the tax from cigarettes and beer. The government has no ability to afford SS and health care. The average old age home costs 70k a year-there is no way right now for our society to be prosperous enough to pay for the elderly. How does the lower middle class pay for itself?
I do agree that a country as rich as the United States should be able to help those who are truely in need, but not at the cost of those who don't desire any from of government intervention. I my opinion, Obama's healthcare bill may have been one of his worst decisions, and I hope it is removed by the next elected administration.
@dazdxmg While that may be true in Britain, government run healthcare in the United States will limit people from choosing their own private healthcare plan. Many people who currently have private healthcare plans that they like and consider affordable will lose that coverage, as the United States government will consider it to be illegal. As a result they will be forced to buy a government backed plan they don't even want, ultimately costing the tax-payer.
@CuBeOrDiE Gee, that's weird. I was x-rayed, treated and released for a simple broken finger. That is pretty much the norm in Canada. Have a REALLY hard time buying your story, or you are leaving a lot of info out.
It's surprising how retarded people are. This health care system won't work, becuase you can't add more people in a plan and not lose money without decreasing quality of health care. And I lived in Canada, and their health care sucks. My dad had to wait in the hospital room 56 hours with a broken leg that had a bone sticking out. WTF?! And if people want better healthcare, they should just get a better job instead of relying on healthcare. This is spreading wealth and dictation; its socialism.
