  • the manouever you used there was a bow rudder not a gliding draw

  • Dont know why they teac this. They should be telling paddlers to power across eddy lines into eddies.

This sort of thing gives new paddlers the wrong impression.

It only leads to bad habits which can affect a paddler when they go to do bigger stuff as they wont know what to do when the eddy line is way too strong to break with a bow rudder.

And that was a bow rudder she demonstrated. Not a gliding draw as said.

  • Do some slalom gates

  • may be good to call it a stern draw. yin yang of a stern draw ferry.. the language in these is so far from literal that some of this is incorrect even if the theory is correct...

  • it doesn't work

  • it really depends on what type of paddling you plan to do

  • Sorry dave People should know

  • Your user name is pathetic. Get a life.

  • Doesn't the term 'bow rudder' sound contradictory?

  • -Sigh- I'm sure over 25 years of experience teaching kayaking (not including pervious experience pre-instruction) would mean that this 'expert' knows what she's talking about, it's not the crap that alot of smart asses are accusing her of.
