UPDATE: This method no longer works! Gifworks.com redirects to clipart.com now...USE http://www.online-image-editor.com/ OR http://www.myimager.com/ INSEAD! They have all the same tools Gifworks had.

In this video, I will show you how to edit any .gif animated image so that you can use it for your avatar in AIM 7. This way, we can have buddy icons that animate! :)

**MAKE SURE YOU USE FIREFOX TO DO THIS**

Here are the links used in this video:

Download AIM 7: http://dashboard.aim.com/aim
For editing our gif image: http://www.online-image-editor.com/
Image-hosting site: http://photobucket.com/
*You don't necessarily need to upload your images to an imagehosting site manually. I originally made this video about gifworks, but onlineimageeditor has a nice "upload to imageshack" option at the end of editing, so that's a very nice option to use*

**This is what should be entered into the address bar in Firefox at the end**

aim:buddyicon?src=url_of_small_image&largesrc=url_of_large_image

If you have any questions at all, feel free to message me :)

  • how to do you optimize for websafe color in online-image-editor??

  • does it work for normal aim?

like just aim instant messenger. not aim 7 or whatever.

  • @bjcworth Um, you're a loser! how is 45.5 way too huge whey YOUR lame-ass outdated video says that it can be 64? Diiiiiiiiiiiiiick!

  • wtf - online image editor does not have an optimize feature to reduce colors and myimager no longer supports animated gif

  • Yay, ty. :)

  • Works perfectly. Thank you.

  • i want to download it not have it online

  • @bjcworth "USE online-image-editor OR myimager"

    read again friend

  • @bjcworth I have.. Nowhere in there does it say that it still works. D=

  • @Briglair Yes, but it still works with the updated site if you read the full description :D
