Evo X MR with Greddy Type-RZ bov (recirculated) and Injen intake and upper intercooler pipe. The bov is much louder than it sounds in the video. Also, the Injen intake makes the stock bov sound like aftermarket. (a lot of bov flutter)

  • Exedous, with this intake installed is there a possibility to leave front part of the original filter box in place to help with taking colder air or due to Injen's design it is not of use?

  • No, it's not possible, there isn't enough room due to Injen's design.

  • I put a Greddy Type S on my Evo X and I had a little bit of compressor surge. You're getting it really bad. I did a single spring mod to mine and it runs fine. I believe the RZ has a dual spring system as well. Take out the smaller spring leaving the larger one and you will be fine. It takes like 10min if that to do. It worked for my Type S it should work for you as well.

  • Thanks for the input... I did this shortly after posting the video and it fixed the problem. I posted another video with the bov sounding normal after I removed one of the springs in the RZ.

  • It's not suppose to flutter u have it hooked up to a bad vacuum source

  • Flutter bad man flutter bad!!

  • I heard flutter is a bad thing

  • i sent somthing to you befor on one of your other videos, i have a perrin bov, i was thinking of getting the greddy rz because im pushing 18psi and i want the flutter like this.... how could i get mine to flutter? or do you have any advice? and wastegate? any advice?

  • thats just goddamn cool

  • @blakeythomp your officialy retarded

  • @LukaAndMario Sounds like its only about 5 psi haha

  • how high is the boost pressure?

  • @XwP1ayawX Yes....i know...I was wrong. That was 3 months ago, I've learned all the nuts and bolts on turbo's, and how they work now. I'm currently building a mk2 gti 20v with a gt30....

  • @JLDG4

It can be compressor surge OR recirculated air passing through the impeller. If you recirculate the bov, where does that air go? It goes back into the turbo intake pipe. It IS pressurized and what you are hearing is the impeller chopping up the pressurized air. NOT SURGING.

Surging happens when the throttle plate shuts and boost backs up until it reaches equilibrium at the compressor. When this happens it causes negative pressure (vacuum) to be placed on an already spinning impeller.
