It's impossible o be optimistic, the scale of this hidden problem is too vast to admit an easy fix, or any kind of real solution, but to do nothing is defeatist. Maybe if we could begin by starting a crash-program to trawl all our major rivers, shores, estuaries, bays and inlets, to retrieve all the plastic crap down to some effective size, & burn it in hundreds of plasma incinerators which we'd have to build -- it would all cost many hundreds of $ billions, at the same time, stop using plastic!

I say humankind has 10 more years of existence, and that's being hopeful. If you were but to open your eyes you would see the world is a mass graveyard, not only of what was, but what is, and is to come.

Their is nothing we can do about this. it can not be reversed. but if all humanity were to change, which they will not, further polluting could be halted.

Only one comment, no wonder the planet is in the state it's in everyone's 2 busy with the things that = NOTHING! No planet, No us! I've been recycling most of my life but still I even see 'BIN MEN' who just throw glass mixed in with all the other rubbish.
