Victim S3 Episode 3: I'm yours, and you're stuck with me

Chapter 3:
Im yours, and youre stuck with me

-A Week later-

Codie: Its not your fault.

Josh: I know its not. Its her fault.

Codie: why?

Josh: If she never dated him in the first place, he never would have done that well, stuff to me.

Codie: Thats not fair. She didnt know and Im sure she beats herself up over it everyday.

Josh: Maybe. Oh well *Takes another drink from the bottle*

Codie: would you please put the bottle down? Please? Thats not going to help.

Josh: Of course it will. You should try some. * He moves the bottle toward her to offer a drink*

Codie: There going to find her.

Josh: Yeah. Like they found David right?

Codie: I wish there was a way I could make it go away but I cant. You have to do it yourself, you need to heal.

Josh: I am healing with my good friend Mr. Vodka.

Codie sat in silence next to Josh and just watched him as he took forcible drinks of her dads vodka. A few minutes later the doorbell rang and Codie went to answer. Joe and Nick stood outside and walked in, Codie shut the door behind them.

Joe: Well Its official Jamie is going to be a Jonas. Their going to let us adopt him. *Joe smiled*

Codie: Thats great!

Codie threw herself onto Joe and gave him a large hug, Joe hugged back. It last for a couple seconds until they both awkwardly pulled away.

Joe: Where is everyone else? We are suppose to invite you all over for a celebration dinner tonight.

Codie: Thats great Ill tell my dad, he had some business to take care of, and Josh is in the kitchen *pause* Drinking.

Nick: What?

Joe: Why?

Nick walked to the kitchen and left Codie to explain to Joe. Nick walked into the kitchen and saw the empty bottle laying on the counter getting ready to roll off the counter, but no Josh. Only the backdoor open and the curtains flowing in the wind.

Codie: We got a call this morning. Joshs mom is missing, and my dad has to go file for temporary custody or there going to put Josh in foster care.

Joe: they cant do that! Hes like family.

Codie: I know. Its not fair! Why do all these horrible things keep happening to the people we care about? *Starts to cry*

Joe: I know it seems that way *Pulls her into a hug* I guess thats life. Other good things have been happening like Jamie and Nick and Josh being home.

Codie: Yeah. Your right, that is a good thing *looks up at Joe and smiles* I just wish there was a way to make them see that they can heal.

Joe: Yeah. I think the best way for that to happen is if David were in jail.

Codie: Or even better, Dead.

Joe was a little put off by that statement but he couldnt help but agree with the statement.

Joe: Feeling better now?

Codie: A little.

Codie moved away from Joe with a grin, but she didnt break the eye contact. Joe didnt break it either instead he leaned in and kissed Codie, and she kissed back.
