@theseethingrainweeps Newt is the consummate politician and Washington insider. And though he's always "the smartest guy in the room", this is only the tip of the iceberg of his stupid policy positions.
And importantly (for most conservatives), Newt is even worse than Rick Perry on illegal immigration. In the past he has strongly advocated allowing illegal aliens to remain in the U.S. on some kind of "guest worker" program - with a path to citizenship - while assuring us it's not amnesty :/
