72A Ballards lane, Finchley was home to many musicians in the 60's' The Overlanders, Settlers,Hedgehoppers Anonymous, Art Movement, Cuppa T and others. "72a" is performed by the late Barry Allen who passed away in the Spring of 2008.

  • HI this rocks man you cut a mean groove there. I lived in Finchley in 1960s and never knew about this address though I can recall some surreal people floating about apart from myself !

  • It was a GREAT place. The flat was above a ladies hairdressers so we had an endless supply of dolly birds coming in the back way! Bee Gees live a cou0ple of doors down and we got blamed for thair loud music. Resident at 72a at that time were members of Hedgehoppers Anonymous, Alan Price Set, Settlers, Overlanders and Pudding (they had a great club!) The street was, of course, Ballards Land. Surreal people lived round the corner.....

  • Heres some history!!....72a was indeed where Mike Tinsley and the Hedgehoppers Anonymous were hiding........the base was above a ladies hairdresser shop.They had a very good German cook... Helmut...and "Big Al"....the famous roady of all.He also worked for Alan Price. A good tribute....and song.The other members will enjoy this on.......as far as South Africa and Canada.
