The Orlando Consort
Quasi cedrus exaltata sum in Libano,
et quasi cupressus in monte Sion,
et quasi palma exaltata sum in Cades,
et quasi plantatio rosae in Ierico.
Quasi oliva speciosa in campis
et quasi platanus exaltata sum iuxta aquas.
In plateis sicut cinnamomum
et balsamum aromatizans odorem dedi.
Tota pulchra es amica mea
et macula non est in te.
O amica mea veni de Libano,
veni sponsa mea, veni coronaberis.
I was exalted like a cedar on Mount Lebanon,
and as a cypress tree on Mount Sion,
and as a palm tree in Cades [Kadesh],
and as a rose plant in Jericho.
As a fair olive tree in the plains,
and as a piane tree by the water, was I exalted.
I gave a sweet smeli in the streets
like cinnamon and aromatical balm.
Thou art ali fair, my love,
and there is not a spot in thee.
O my love, come from Mount Lebanon,
my spouse, come: thou shalt be crowned.
