  • yea .60 over is a 468 on a 454

  • Its a 454 .30 over that makes it. 460 cuin

  • 460 chevy?? thought 460 was a ford motor

  • @csisterh its a 454 .30 = 460 cuin but yes a

    '460" is a ford

  • for whats in it, thats kind of disappointing.

... even with the low CR it should make more than that.

  • @bigorangetrucker mild cam, didnt build for the track.

  • yea... edelbrock heads with an edelbrock dual-plane intake mani..

imagine a pair of CNC machined alloy, Merlin 2.30/1.88, with an high-rise single plane intake.

  • AFR heads, or "World Products" Merlin heads are the best, but Dart and Brodix are great too. but your looking @ $2000 average for a complete pair

Alloy heads float way better then cast iron especially with todays CNC port technology.

those Comp "Thumpr" cams are ground for sound, their not true high performance cams. for example is you want a 550+ horsepower big block you wont be running a Thumpr cam. although there a 3 different stages of cams in the Thumpr family.

  • is this with peanut port heads????

  • That engine sounds so harmonious that it puts me to sleep.

  • 454 bored .60 over makes it a 468, right????

  • @928Nupe dart and brodix are badass heads but personally in my ford 460 i just ported and polished with all new parts and a thumpr cam altho im running a 71 460 at 10.5:1 stock and 365 hp and 500FT stock havent dynod it yet but it feels a hell of alot better so if i had to guess id say 450 hp and prolly 600ft but who knows could be higher or lower, all i know is that on the 460 stock heads need a lil clean up, chevy didnt leave much room for improvement so brodix or dart hell ya:)

  • Shit... A cam, intake, and headers on a stock 460 Ford will make that!

Talk about a bad return on his investment...

  • @bigorangetrucker it has a low compression ratio, if he built it with more compression it would be alot better

  • From my experience, Edelbrock is generic brand....had the entire Performer Rpm set up on my 460 and the darn thing barely got over 560hp. The heads are only 290cc. The cam is mild at best with 308 int/ 318 exh and gross valve lift 488 int / 510 exh. If you really want hp Dart and Brodix heads will give you what you want.
