  • Superb collection of shots Mark, you caught the event brilliantly.

    Thanks for sharing. Phil.

  • @981smithy Thanks for the comment Phil. This is Monopodmansdad ( Mark ). It was MonopodMans footage. I was in charge of driving him around. Weather was a lot better than when we set off. We were pleased to film the red 8F as we missed it when it came to East Lancs. We had a ride on the second full line trip of the day and it was standing room only.

  • Great video of the Event. I was up frm London on the 19th/20th shame the weather was so bad great to see you got some very fine shots. Thanks for posting

  • @MonopodMan Sorry for not giving you the credit, your dad as corrected me on who was filming, My mistake it was superb coverage and thanks again for sharing.

  • Very professional videography. Exciting & inspiring.

  • I'm with 7822welshsteam on this. We had a good time but due to the late running only managed one trip during the day and the beertrain in the evening.(which ran an hour late) Catering on the day was pretty poor too. It could have and should have been a lot better considering all the hype in the railway press the previous months. Perhaps next time will be better.

Oh by the way... good video monopodman, thanks for putting it on youtube so quick.

  • It was quite a good day. It should have been a really good day but with 5199 and the LMS saloon failing the timetable went to pot. This spoilt my day perhaps more than most as I paid £25 to go on a train and ended up missing it because I was expecting another engine.

  • Really excellent footage
