Well, kind of. You can choose the player 2 ship and play with that alone.

Would it be possible for player 1 to use WASD?

Yes. The controls for player 1 are arrows and ZXC, alternatively JKL. For player two, you move with WSAD or numpad 5213. Shooting happens from 123 or 789. Joystick is also supported.
The options were born when we added 2-player support. Possible changes in the future, of course.

Yes, I took care of the graphics and wrote the story, eebrozgi handled coding and composed the music. Overall, however, both of us have affected on many things - such as enemy/level design, scoring, weapons etc. and so far it has been extremely rewarding.
