I'm going into my mortuary science premajor next year. I'm so excited.

That was great, while they were talking about the scarce chance of cross-contamination, the FD was buttoning up the deceased's shirt without gloves on..MORON. They were still in the prep room.

i took a career aptitude test that was like 500 questions long and my top ideal job was a funeral director! i was like wht?! 0.o. i could my see myself preparing a dead body singing "grave robber at large". lmao death is my business and business is good.

@dougvm1970 That's exactly it. Death is a part of life. Someone has to do it. It's a FANTASTIC market opportunity. It's NEVER going out of business. I don't care that aging people die, because everyone's moment comes. It's inevitable. I care that my loved ones and other people's loved ones are no longer around to hang out with...but the actual act of dying is just ya know. The price you pay for living lol.

I want to become a mortician, but I have no idea where to start.
"your job prospects are good... the aging American population means an increase in deaths" LOL!

Florida requires a dual license, and most embalmers don't like working as funeral directors...they'd rather hang out in the prep room. However, I'm definitely in favor of having both licenses, and understanding all aspects of the profession.
