  • Shock Theatre was the name of Ghoulardi's show in 1963.. This guy stole the name...

  • Actually, "Shock Theatre" was a pretty common name used by many of the late-night horror-movie shows on local TV stations from the late 1950s to the 1980s. Check out the documentary "American Scary" -- an interesting look at how these programs popped up around the country when the film companies started packaging and leasing horror movies to local broadcast stations. Each one was wonderfully reflective of the local community. Ghoulardi and Dr. Creep were just a few of the greats!

  • Rest In Peace Dr. Creep. God bless you for all the hours of enjoyment you brought to people, and for all the help you gave to M.D.A. You will be missed.

    Cheers.

  • According to WHIO radio, Dr. Creep is currently in a coma. Here's hoping he can pull out of it, and recover.

    Cheers.

  • nope sammy terry was not the doc , f u murduck

  • Sammy Terry was Much better

  • AWESOME! I always loved Dr. Creep and Shock Theatre in the 70s and 80s...

  • A bunch of these old movie host shows are covered in Elena Watson's great 1991 book Television Horror Hosts: 68 Vampires, Mad Scientists and Other Denizens of the Late Night Airwaves Examined and interviewed. She covers almost everybody who hosted a show like this from Vampira up to around 1990.

  • Shock Theater and Son Of Shock! was a syyndicated package of movies that was sold to local stations. Once a host was added (Many claim Vampira or Zacherle to be the first) then almost every shock theater or whatever they called it had to have a host. The original package premeired in 1959,I think.
