To David the founder I would offer some advice gained from 18 years of full contact stick fighting. To paraphrase an old adage "It's all fun and games until someone loses an eye". Even if the head is not considered a target area the foam weapons that are being used have a plastic inner core that is more than capable of causing damage especially when a thrust is used. When two combatants close weapons are redirected to vulnerable areas.
