My last two tutorials involved dishsoap, microwaves, and a pencil.
This one better be real!

@unlockandgo i bought a replacement glass panel, it came without the small ribbon cables attached. its just a peice of glass, can i still use this? or is it useless? iv repaired screens before, but mostly the whole thing, not the glass seperate to the LCD

@naipaul44 Actually, the new glass for these can have a very tight fit on the Home button. If the placement of the new glass is not perfectly center on the home button, then the glass will be touching the home button and putting friction against it so that it will not move. Too late for you now, but since the adhesive is fresh, you can firmly nudge the glass literally thousandths of inches in different directions until you feel the Home button loose. Nudge in a direction, check, and try another.

Your pins on the home button flex are probably bent or broken.

Great video. I had no trouble other than the usual micro sizes. Problem: When I tested it before putting in the last two screws, I noticed that the touch pattern isn't right. IE touch the messages icon and get the app to the left of it. Did I do something wrong or is my new glass the wrong one? Is the glass the same for the 3G as for the 3GS?

Id say that you got a bad digitzer. First check to make sure the #2 Compression connector is secured, Otherwise order up an OEM screen. Copies are HIGHLY unreliable.

Sorry to say, but someone broke your iphone. the ZIF connector is what connects your earpiece to the phone, without that, no sound from the earpiece or proxy sensor. Youll need to get a different phone.
I can repair ZIF connectors, but I dont currently have a source for the part needed.
Good luck.
