Wanted to do a quick re-boot of the Windows 7 x64 Release Client 7100 for a message board. As you can see, it only takes about 30 seconds to fully boot to desktop. The RAID consists of 4x Western Digital 250gig SATA II Hard Drives. THey are the SAME model number, with a slight variance, as the first drive is a 16 meg cache, the 2nd and 3rd are 8meg cache, the 4th is another 16meg. The RAID is set at 250gigs by the remainder of the 961gigs or so, and all of Windows, games, Adobe, and all the other 'bloat' is on it as well. I currently have NOTHING but the Nvidia driver and uTorrent set to 'start' on load, as to minimize initial FAIL on the memory load.
The current machine specs are at http://www.madnesssoft.net/trigem/-=COMPUTER=-/ because I am NOT going to list them all. In a nutshell it's a 2x Duel Core 2.8ghz Opteron machine with 2gigs of DDR2 at 800mhz with NUMA. Nvidia 680i chipset, Nvidia raid and Silicon Image raid.
(And yes, furry desktop, woo, sue me.)
