For all who thought only Bad Company had an album, song, band name all the same, HAH! Here's one of the best songs from 60's. For the studio version try myspace.com/octobercountry1968. The first Nuggets box set from Rhino Records has many seldom heard 'garage band' songs from this era (although not this song) if you're looking for a 'trip' down memory lane. Ciao for now, Phil
Oh. My. God. I thought I would never find this song again. As a 12-year-old I LOVED this song on AM radio. I am SO THRILLED to hear it again. Thank you thank you thank you!!!
I can clearly recall seeing the band perform this on T.V. when I was growing up in So. Cal. They were playing outdoors. Perhaps it was an appearance on "Where the Action Is"? I was 10 at the time this song was released. Here I am, at age 52, having never forgotten the song. Here's a belated thanks to October Country for a great song that was part of my childhood.
I heard this excellent song as a boy in 1968, but never knew what the name of the band was until years later. I found a 45 of this in the 80's, it is on the Epic label.
Wow - have not heard this one since 1968 !! Typed it in in the ' Search ' box as a lark, hoping someone had uploaded audio from their old 45 . I was stunned ( and very pleased ) that there was actually Video of this band performing the song. How Great !! -- Yeah, and like most everyone else posting comments , I heard this one on Seattle's KJR radio. Program director Pat O'Day must have liked the song to give it the prominent airplay that it had. Thank You very much for this posting !
@carylecamacho WOW! I'm amazed this video is out there. I bought tons of sunshine pop reissues over the past few years, but none compared to "October Country"; better songs, better singing, and incredibly innovative arrangements. It's a privilege to see this! Caryle---THANK YOU!!!
