I declare Earth Hour as a hazard!
What if some one tripped and fell in a burning candle?

Pfft. Even if all 200,000 people of a electric company using coal power turn all their stuff off for an hour the coal plant will still burn 23tons of coal that hour to keep the grid up so that when everyone flips their switches back on the power will be their after the hour is up (smirk)
Flipping off the switch does nothing, The Community threatening the Electric company to go off grid and use their own power sorces at home unless they use something other then coal does

Major problems with Earth Hour is unless the Coal Power Plant is shut down, it still burns it's allotment of coal for that hour whether or not you use the power that is availible "on demand"..so it's nothing more then a feel good jesture
People proubldy use their Cellphones,Iphones video cameras to record the event not realizing how much oil and coal goes into making and maintainng those things as well(Rollsetyes)

i tried spraying areosel cans and burning tires to shut off my lights but its not working, any tips?

i turn my lights off for about 10hours when i go to bed, and i dont have lights on in the day time so yanoooo, its not gna make a difference

lol.. i think the WWF knows one hour doesn't make a significant difference.. thats the point.. awareness.. clearly not a solution.. just an idea...

Is it just me or was this an OK finish to the event? I turned my lights off and all electrical appliances for the full hour in support of Earth Hour. Then at 9:00 to my dismay, FIREWORKS!! Fireworks!!?? On Earth Hour night!! Did somebody screw up because isn't Earth Hour about the environment or were environmentally friendly fireworks used? Am I the only one concerned? Everyone is saying Sydney should be praised, I think we should be horse whipped (at least this is environmentaly friendly).
