Brand new UP GE's at Erie, PA on Valentines Day! Part one.

Views of two strings of brand new Union Pacific GE's. Note the red alarm light on in the cab of #7357 and the oil stains on the side of a brand new unit!! Hope it's under warranty! Taken at the NS/EECRR interchange in Erie, PA on Feb. 14th, 2009. The CSX train at the beginning is eastbound.

From what I am told GE ships the units locked. I would never try to get into to the cab, unless invited. I do not want to ruin it for everyone else.

Here in Portland we have quite a few new GE's, stored at the Union Pacific yard. I would love to go get a tour of the place. Besides I want to work there when I get out of Collage.

When I was on WC right before the CN merger, had a chance to go through a couple new CN units in transit to Winnepeg. Doors are chained and locked on shipment from the factory. Authorized keys let crews in to peform their jobs. Its been 8 years on now... but I can't imagine them changing the policy, especially since 9/11.

thanks, i was just curious, i must have mis read your video description, i apoligize if i sounded like i was trying to start something great video though, i've been inside the plant a few times, used to work for a contractor inside, was pretty cool.
