RT has been allowed to film aboard the Varyag missile cruiser, the flagship of Russia's Pacific Fleet, as it took part in large-scale war games in the country's Far East. Dubbed the 'aircraft carrier killer', Varyag boasts a variety of weapons from 15-ton anti-ship guided missiles, to anti-submarine mortars, to anti-aircraft missiles.

  • @MrJacob1777 Calm down white kid ....back to your XboX .

  • Only a carrier killer if it can get within range. HIGHLY unlikley. Otherwise-a very good air defense ship... for a carrier battlegroup.

  • I've been aboard an American missile cruiser, (my cousin is in the navy) and it was definitely better than this thing...

  • Stupid humans

  • @MrJacob1777 bla bla bla....Russia dont build navy with ability to bring their power to far side of the world. They never build expedition forces because Russia simply dont need it. Every Russian area of interest is reachable with dry foot from Moscow. Russian naval doctrine is defensive. They never will build fleet of dozen aircraft carriers and tens of destroyers just because they have not purpose for it.

  • @ubermisogynist keep dreamin..

  • @Aresbro A ship is a ship is a ship. It doesn't matter if the U.S. ships are thirty years ahead. Hit 'em in the right place, and they'll be damaged or even sink. Just look at what happen to the Bismark in WW2. They torpedoed it's rudder, and then the thing could only go in circles. It was a 'sitting duck' after that.

  • Wait is this supposed to be a new ship with new tech? Looks like the U.S. Navy ships that have been decommissioned 20 years ago to procure new ships. Hmm I guess its good for Russia to be catching up. I wonder if this boat takes them from 30 years behind the U.S. Military all the way to 20 years behind the U.S.?

  • would love to see USA carriers sunk

  • More of these please RT
