Once, Sainsbury's used to be the upmarket place to go. Since the late nineties it lost that title to M&S food then along came Waitrose rendering Sainsbury's to being just another supermarket alongside (at the time) Tesco, ASDA, Safeway and Morrisons now its just the big four. Sainsbury's will never be on top. Tesco(1ist) owns too much, ASDA (2nd) is cheaper then its Sainsbury's which even when i worked there in 2000 resented 3rd place Morrisons 4th but is closing the gap!

Anyone who thinks that Sainsbury's food is better quality are deluded..My Uncle was a regional manager and he covered the East of England store region and he saw colleagues at various branches commit some of the most appalling breaches of hygeine standards on the fresh counters while he was undercover,  that included cross-contamination..He runs his own successful deli and patisserie now..Never use a supermarket Salad Bar at Sainsbury's or Morrisons unless you want Salmonella or E- Coli.

1982FMJ your talking bolocks mate. Trading standards wouldn't allow it. In fact companies like sainsburys and waitrows buy in better quality food then the likes of asda and tesco. The keep it at a better quality through lower temperatures and shorter date codes so u get best quality. As the saying goes you get what u pay for.
