Si Se Puede: A Tribute to Cesar Chavez

I was awarded this commission in August 2010 through winning a competition through the City of Santa Fe Springs, California. The mural is located in the Garden at the Public Library in Santa Fe Springs, California. The theme celebrates Cesar Chavez' commitment to education, literacy and the environment. There are over 900 handmade and glazed tiles. Former and current students assisted in the making of the piece: Jessica Druxman, Stephanie Matthias and Michael Salvatore.
The mural will be dedicated on Thursday, November 3, 2011 at 5 pm. There will also be an Artist's Reception on Saturday, November 19, 2011 from 2 to 5 pm. Both events will take place in the Garden of the City of Santa Fe Springs Public Library.
