This made me lol hella. " Lock dat dooour. "

I think what you spotted is just an ironic hint on that he always said it, not the reason that he always said it.

LOL, FUCKING GENIUS COMPILATION

@Alytoner Good analysis - but I think the contrast here is with Marlo - NOT to do with Stringer's death. Marlo - conducted operations and meetings out in the open (loads of scenes like this...especially in playgrounds). Stringer on the other hand is a 'business man'. The locked doors represent his desire to be thought of as such - he is a 'boardroom gangster' not a street gangster. Like the politicians and the lawyers in The Wire, Stringer conducts business behind closed doors.

@Alytoner ooooh SNAP! good analysis

GREAT video I always tell people to look out for the "ayo lock that door"
-
Stringer has door closing OCD
-
@mankytoes there was one locked door though
In assuring doors were closed when not in use, he was really making an effort to economize on the gang's gas bills for indoor heating.

DO NOT READ THIS IS SPOILERS IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN PAST 3RD SEASON!!!
He always says lock the door because at the very end when he gets killed, there are two locked door blocking his path from escaping from Omar. The thing that he was always so careful about (locked doors) ended up getting him in the ass. Just like everything he did behind peoples back in order to get ahead. Everything bites you in the ass, even the things you do on purpose to protect yours. Moral of the scene.
