Today (yesterday, it's been 0:00 already) I made a particle system in C++.
A particle system?
Yup, a particle system. It is nothing but pixels floating though your window and leaving a small stroke wich get awesome fired colours!
Check this video to see what it looks like, or download it from my website (Broxzier.com) where I'll add a link to download it soon. Also I will add a version with less particles, so it works smooth on all computers without lag.
Don't fotget to rate and leave a comment if you like, I read them all!

Download: http://www.broxzier.com/files/uploads/particles.zip

Song: Covered and edited version of Build to Last
Original: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xQ8-W5aEfVQ

I will upload the source to my website asap.

  • It looks like 3D, but its 2D right?

    I don't think 3D would be possible at real-time with today's hardware.

  • @pufixas

This is 2D indeed. Making this 3D is only like 2 more rules of code and would run as fast as this video.

  • Amazing how math and logic can produce something so beautiful. This is why I got into programming.

  • Can you compile it as a screensaver, please?

I liked to experiment with particles too, then took an error in the drive.

  • at about 0:20 - 0:21 it looks like it's becoming a sitting a bit sad girl)

    it would be very beautiful

  • @ScreamandPanic You're thinking of Visual Studio

  • I was wondering if I could have a look at the source code for that? :) I'm just starting to get into c++ programming and I have to admit, that thing is so beautiful I'd like to see how it's done if possible?

  • @jlsjonas get a new teacher before its too late.

  • Any chance of making this a screensaver with resolution fed from windows?

    :D

  • @jlsjonas Visual Basic isn't a programming language, its an IDE, that actually is for C++.

  • This is complete madness! Where's the help file?

  • @mshartz5 indeed it is

  • @mshartz5 no, math is abstract thinking and our way to try and understand the universe. :-)
