A beautiful song about love and doubt sung by the woman who also composed it: Carole King.

  • @strife725 I disagree about this version being boring. IMO, this song should be sung the way Carole sings it! I'm not a fan of Durbin but appreciate the tribute. I'm tired of people hating on Adam for EVERY ignorant reason..so I can be a bit defensive sometimes. Sorry. I LOVE the way Adam changed up Mad World bc Adam LIVED the lyrics! Did u know that? Did you know that that was Adam's childhood? His anguish shows in his performance. And yes Jazz is AWESOME drum technique but not a fan

  • @MusiCizzLife1729 Also why don't u like jazz? just curious? I used to not be so into it, but as I played it more I began to like it; swinging the 8th notes instead of playing them straight. I would think, as a drummer, u would like the rhythms in jazz since they are typically very progressive, but at the same time simplistic and laid back while maintaining some sophistication.

  • @MusiCizzLife1729 it's not that he screwed up HIS version. If he intended it to sound like that then he succeeded, but I still don't like it; I feel it wasn't a very good cover. Probably how I should have worded it instead of saying he screwed it up, or, like you said, to say that I prefer jules' version. Also I don't typically go to youtube vides for songs that I don't like just to bash on them. My main problem was that people were saying how this song was boring and idol did it better.

  • @strife725 I happen to HATE Jazz... but I studied it for YEARS coz I'm a longtime semi-pro drummer! Do i go around hating on Jazz videos? No! bc I respect people that like it. My problem isn't with the fact that u obviously prefer the Mad World version by Gary Jules (which I think is 2nd best) But I do have a problem w/u saying that Adam screwed his version up. How exactly did Adam screw it up? c'mon, really? "I prefer Jules' version" would be a better & more respectful statement. TY

  • @MusiCizzLife1729 Never said he wasn't talented, when he's not doing covers of covers he's ok. I've never been a fan of people American Idol, all the performers are just mimicking what they hear. And did you ever take into consideration that I may be a musician too? I guess studying music for two years and being THE guitarist in the jazz and show bands at my college out of the several guitarists that auditioned isn't worthy of merit; yeah I'm ignorant. Spare me the lecture.

  • TIMELESS. Carole is brilliant! <3

  • @strife725 YOU are an ignorant clueless idiot. Adam screwed it up?? Do you have ANY idea how gifted Adam Lambert is?? Don't even make more of a fool of yourself with your response or your complete lack of musical knowledge. (Yes, I'm a musician). And to put down idol, which is only a platform, is also ignorant. How about you Just enjoy the music that YOU like, and STFU? Thanks.

  • @ciadmire are u kidding me? anything from american idol is nothing short of a mimic's fantasy...carole king's version is so emotional and perfect...its like gary jules version of tears for fear's 'Mad World'...adam screwed that one up too...

  • @ciadmire i know im sitting here like this is so boring ! james's was faster wasnt it?

  • Great version but, I prefer James Durbin's version...He makes the song live.
