Weather Channel coverage of what would be called the "Perfect Storm" The video is a montage of several days worth of coverage from October 29 to Nov 2 and ends with the hurrricane striking Nova Scotia.
I lived in Minnesota during this storm event, and during the exact period of time that the "Perfect Storm" was at its peak, in St. Paul we were experiencing the "Halloween Blizzard" which was, and still is, a record snow-storm for the Twin Cities and for most of Minnesota. It seems odd that two incredibly powerful storms were raging at the same time separated by only one sin wave in the jet stream.
I don't think that there will ever be another John Hope. He sure knew his history. I (and many other weather fanatics) miss him dearly. R.I.P. John. :-(
After Keith's segment we go to a 'live' shot into the Forecast Center with Jeff Morrow and later with John Hope. The person in the background wearing the blue shirt is Matt Crowther! He is drawing a current analysis map (on paper, kids) for on-air presentation!
I was almost 7 when this happened, so my memory isn't very clear of this.....
