  • Ask the IRA? The British did not torture the IRA, Bill you fake Irish tit.

  • This sounds like more nitpicking to me. All obama said was that Winston Churchill said "we do not torture." Did Churchill say this or not? Did he oppose torture of POWs or not? If you google it you get references to this Obama-Chruchill-torture controversy from partytards in the lib-demo and con-repub cults.

    Either way, it's irrelevant. The United States says it "does not torture" too except when we do, and then we just call it "enhanced interrogation."

  • I don't think Jesus would approve of waterboarding Bill. Ironic how these religious conservatives are the most into violence and war.

  • So the fact that Churchill was actually on board for torture invalidates the sentiment Obama was going for? I'm not really seeing the point here. He cited a bad example, it doesn't make him wrong on the whole.

    And then at the end he says only the president should have the authority to approve torture. Well guess what, that's exactly what's happening here. Obama is saying "as president, I'm telling you guys, we aren't torturing anymore."

  • O-Really just doesn't know ANYTHING about history, I feel sorry for him for fabricating interview answers. Churchill was a criminal, but O-Really is not trying to prove that but to talk bad about his own president

  • It wasn't just Dresden being destroyed. Dresden and other German cities were being pummeled well before the firebombing of 1945 by the RAF and USAAF. Stalin as the excuse for the long term strategy of bombing German cities of the British and America is a weak one indeed.

  • tear gas is tear gas----> poison gas is poison gas...........

    SquireDon, now please show me the quote of Churchill that states according to Obama / Keith;

    "We don't torture" ---> or anything like that.

    Also- are you saying captured German agents threatened with execution by British counter- intelligence if they didn't become double agents was not torture.... do you think they were asked that nicely?

  • You are talking about deadly poison gas used in WW1. The type of poison gas Churchill wanted to use was of the 'non-lethal' kind.

    Research the huge stores of chemical warfare agents the US, Britain, and Germany had-including anthrax!

    .Look it up. I've given you enough info to go by;

    google this keyphrase-

    "Churchill drench Germany poison gas"

    Then you'll see his own words in his desire to terrorize civilians. Churchill WANTED to use it and was prohibited by others on his staff.

  • None of these matters O'Reilly has atributed to Churchill have the least relevance to a government which LEGALISED the use of torture at the highest level as a matter of policy despite all advice to the contrary that it would be illegal, immoral or effective any way. With the exception of a few Jewish and Islamic extremists, O'Reilly is the biggest lying propagandist since Goebels and even he would probably admit O'Reilly can outdo him for twisting facts.

  • The so-called torture centres which O'Reilly LIES - (YES they are LIES)about were interogation centres one of which was run by Oreste Pinto a Dutch officer who was the most successful spycatcher of WW2 and did NOT use any form of torture(read his books). As for the bombing of Dresden, it was initiated at the 'request'(insistence) of Stalin in order to disrupt the withdrawal and reorganising of German troops on the eastern front. Churchill was appauled at the results and banned further ops.
