some how I have lost speech recognition, I have google+ but the app jeanie no longer has speech recognition,

can anyone help?

Well, perfection is just about impossible. Even human beings, being able to interpret context and do incredible feats of noise cancellation, sometimes get it wrong. Compared to the Dragon speech recognition I used a decade or so ago, we're really making progress now it seems, and with Google going head to head with Apple, the progress should be stellar I imagine.

What you are asking for is quite difficult to do. Unless there is some sort of voice recognition on the phone that is able to pull your voice out from the noise and determine that its you talking, and then only listen to that tonality so that it can capture your words, it will be very hard. Even with that recognition, if there are noises or sounds at the same frequency it will pick those up. It looks alot better than most Speech-To-Text, but perfection is far away.

How well does the recognition work in loud or noisy environments? For instance, a Crowded mall, next to a busy highway, driving with the windows down, etc? I really need a droid that can actually handle some noise.

Yea well mine doesn't, mostly because of faulty hardware and low quality control. I thankfully got my money back.
