@ErichF Hey Erich, I was wondering does the Raven have any autonomous controls? eg. can it fly hands off?
-
@traderdmb But you cannot do it in Karbala

i was on the test that tested these things for the company that designed the raven at ypg. this was before the military picked them up. it was a boring test. well i guess you could say it was training seals to use it.

what are you using for ENCRYPTED data transmission and retrans capabilities at around 13,000 miles?
-
The funny thing is that this plane costs the military $25k for 10KM. I can get out to 15 MILES for $1500.

Yeah, it is actually supposed to land like that. It is designed to absorb the impact and distribute it throughout by falling apart. Pretty genius actually. No runway needed and you have to dissemble it anyways, especially when Oscar Mike...

elated thats how you FCKING need to do it XD

I don't think anyone here knows that the Raven is designed to do that, lol.

ouch,
that was a joke right?
That is the "near vertical decent"?
With nearly 2000 hours flying the Raven and other small UAS, there's not a landing technique I haven't seen...better or for worse :)
