  • Looks like a SERIES WOUND DC motor to me. I don't see any magnets like u would on a PERMANENT MAGNET DC motor.

    No matter, a SERIES WOUND DC motor is what u have and what u want in an EV conversion.

  • Yep, it is a series wound. Series Wound motors have plenty of torque and can be found for pretty cheap, because there are so many of them out there.

    PM motors are nice, more compact and more expensive. See my electric motorcycle videos for a Permanent Magnet motor
