Beyond brilliant.

What amazes me most is how perfectly they nail the tunes / tones / tropes of the real folkies of the 50s-60s. They resisted the temptation to go too far (which would have been really easy to do).

The satire is so gentle, if you just heard it on the radio, out of the movie context, you might not even catch that it's a parody.

It's also obvious that they really love the original works and people involved.

I actually DID! I heard the title tract on the radio and thought, HUH? these guys are FANTASTIC! How did I ever miss them, fifty years ago?

I suspect this could have charted for real circa 1961-1965. Personally, I love the psychedelic one they did on their one electric album which flopped, lol.
