@DJLeftHandLuke no, you are wrong. this is lip synced. you have a good point in that artists back then sounded more close to the recording when seen live, however this is not one of those cases. this is definitely lip synced. my dad was in a band that performed on this show a few times back then and the show pretty much had to have bands lip sync because it was a cheaper television network.. not the bands fault.

@ 2:35 the bass player quickly tunes a string on his bass....these are real musicians and they are not lip syncing....they just sounded that good. Music now is so over-saturated with autotune when you hear your favorite artist live and they sound like shit its because they never had talent like these guys.

@maxmannix So your dad was on an Australian TV show several time huh!?!? Look...I am a professional and I'm telling you the bass player wouldn't quickly tune a string on his bass for no reason. This is legit. Back then they just didn't have the same technology in recording so it sounded very similar live. Sorry but you are wrong.

@DJLeftHandLuke There was no "Live" performances on Countdown by 1984. They are playing, just nothing is plugged in. The bass player can probably hear his bass acoustically, that's why he tunes it.
