This is the traditional ceremony of the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace in London, England. If you're looking for red coats and funny hats, you need to go in the summer. They use the darker uniforms in Fall and Winter.

Thanks for the explanation, I had no idea. To my ignorant American eye, it looked like a battle of the bands. The "old band" never came to my side, so I never got a closer shot of them.

Indeed, the Old Guard Band, I am sure from the Coldstream Guards, play Pirates of the Carribean; followed by the new Guard Band, Grenadier Guards Band, playing "Royal Salute".

Then, again the Old Guard Band, but what tune are they playing? Finally it is the theme from Love Boat.

Ya, the old band had the Pirates of the Carribean tune going.. hehehe.

I'm suprised theres that many people there considering they do it almost everyday.
