The RTS in this video entered service in the mid 1980s. The Phantoms in 1996/7 and the Low Floors entered in 2004.

Can anyone help me with the engine spec?

  • What transmission model does the 1994 30' Phantoms use? Voith D863.3 or Allison B-400R?

  • Good question the probelm is, I DON'T KNOW. LOL

I need to ask the driver. She's been in Citylink for more than 30 years. She should know.

  • I ahve been on serval buses, In UK, Dubia and NewZealand. And By far my best bus trip is on the Volgren Buses made in Victoria (South East of Melbourne, and Also a small plant in Perth) Australia. There low Floors ARE THE BEST!

  • CitylinkRider and Fisnationstate is the same btw. :)

  • Interesting. It's the opposite in my area. The older drivers "dread" the Phantom 30ft. Due to its short length, you get a much bumpier ride.

One driver said mentioned that the longer a bus is, the less you will feel the bumps.

What length are the new floors in your area?

  • The transit dept where I drive just purchased 13 new "low Floor" models and I love to drive them. The older drivers like the "Phantom". Stay away from BlueBird...

  • I know the engines in the 30' Phantoms would be the Cummins C8.3 (later ISC).
