*For Everyone who has Ever lost a loved one, this song is for You. Here are the words:

The morning's quiet where the laughter used to be
Right down that hall is where my son would run to me
The day is quiet where my daughter used to be
putting up her hair before she went to sleep

The evening's quiet as I try to carry on
Sometimes I pretend that my child isn't gone
when the evening's quiet

The morning's quiet as I remember his face
The smile in his eyes as he watched his children play
The day is quiet as I remember her voice
The times that we shared filled my life with joy

The evening's quiet as I look out my front door
People standing everywhere, a thousand or more
The light is shining from the candles that they hold
And prayers that they pray for me are telling me
I'm not alone (x2)

When the morning's quiet they tell me I'm not alone
When the day is quiet they tell me I'm not alone
When the evening's quiet they tell me I'm not alone
When it feels so quiet they're telling me I'm not alone.

***Inspired by the outpouring of support for the friends and families of VA Tech, I had to write this song. I had woken up on the morning of Monday, April 30th 2007, thinking of what people must be going through. This song is the result.

  • ...My mom died yesterday. I'm hurting really bad right now. If you see this comment, please pray for me. Thank you.

  • Hey! I love it!

    Is it your original?

You can play under my window if you like! :)

  • Yes, this is an original song. And "okay!" in response to my playing under your window. ;)

  • Not 9/11, but I do know what it's like to lose someone. My dad died February of 2006, and a cousin of mine died a few months before that. It wasn't in the same way as 9/11, or what happened at VA Tech, but the feeling of loss is similar.

  • I received an email saying that this video was not allowing comments. I apologize for that happening. I have checked the settings for this video, and it is set to allow comments. If it doesn't allow you to do so, please let me know and I will contact youtube to see if they can fix the problem.
