@loverunderground The name of the brother who produced the Chantel was Richard Barrett. Not Berry. He was also in the Valentines, who recorded "Don't Say Goodnight".

The idea there was an earlier version by the Pharoahs without Richard Berry doesn't pass muster. I'm a witness to tyhe original on the west coast. Richard wrote it and they all recorded it on a 78 rpm disc first.
