@peetee1000 You are conflating driving fast with driving negligently. You can drive fast just as safely as you drive slow if you pay attention to the road in front of you (hindered by cop activity) and maintain decent following distances and clearances. I've seen more slow drivers not paying attention hurt people than fast drivers who don't talk on their phone and pay full attention to getting from point A to point B. You sound like a child. I just want you to know that.

If you were going so fast that you couldn't react in time when it does happen, then you get what you deserve. Unfortunatley, jerks like you get other innocent people involved most of the time. C-ya

@peetee1000 Also, if your car suffers a blowout and it wasn't from you hitting something, you need to start doing some vehicle maintenance. I don't know about you, but I actually care if my car is safe enough to drive. Do you regularly check your lights, tires, ball joints etc.? Cause I do. Do you tell other drivers (or attempt to) that they have a safety problem with their car? I do. We apparently just have different opinions of safe. So I say that you decide what is safe for you and you alone.

@peetee1000 Figure this into your equations smart ass. If the average speed of drivers on a highway goes from 60 to 90. That means that for every mile of road there are on average 1/3 less cars because the flow rate is so much higher. With less traffic congestion you have longer sight lines and more room for error and correction than a packed highway traveling at any speed. Combine this with the fact that all interstates are designed to be traveled safely at 100mph+, and I say you lose.
