Jane Alexander was robbed! She gave the best performance by far... but the surprising thing was not that she didn't win... it was that she was even nominated for a role which was back then so controversial. This was just 3 years after the tame but taboo "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner?" ... WHICH was wonderful, but PAINFULLY proper!
