The plumber came to repair our leaking kitchen faucet. He said that it appears that the someone had tried, unsucessfully, to repair the leaking O-ring gasket and when they reinstalled the faucet, they cross-threaded the plastic faucet threads. The faucet is now leaking at the crossed threads, is un-repairable and must be replaced.
