43069 leads 43018 on First Great Western's 13.54 Swansea - London Paddington, diverted via Lydney, Gloucester, and the Golden Valley due to engineering work on the lines through the Severn Tunnel. This set features 40709, one of a dwindling fleet of unrefurbished buffets, which still retains its comfortable green IC70 recliner seats, and "Barbie" livery.
no adrian, 43709 would be a HST power car, and not a buffet car. 40709 is a buffet fleet number. (look on the side of all Mk2/3/4 coaches they all have there own fleet number. Most of the Mk3 are numbered 4####. (Except the Loco haul stock) The second digit depends on what type of coach it is (e.g, TGS, TS, TF, TRFB, etc) and the final 3 digits being the coaches individual number.
