Unfortunately for LiVE, since they broke the mainstream charts after Soundgarden, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Alice In Chains, and The Smashing Pumpkins, they were accused of being posers cashing in on a trend and imitating REM specifically (even though the REM part's kinda true).
Ironically, Pearl Jam and Nirvana were initially criticised for the same thing (ESPECIALLY Pearl Jam). Hell, Steve Albini dismissed Nirvana as "REM with a fuzz box".
You're splittin' hairs on the "who made who" front. They were all bands with the same core of influences: Zeppelin, Sabbath, REM, Pixies, Stooges, Beatles, Sonic Youth, The Cure, Alice Cooper, Replacements, Ramones...
yeah, they played it on the 30 june show in Amsterdam when I was there, you can watch in october when it will be released on their first live DVD that was filmed over there

LiVE, Pearl Jam and Nirvana all sounded the same: rebellious, angry and socialists! But LiVE stood out of the rat pack and still good today =)

Old school Live! This video is awesome. It's cool to see how much they've changed physically and vocally since then. Great vid!
