This video shows my 3 axis CNC mill engraving my name on a piece of aluminum scrap. The bit is from a standard Dremel Tool kit spinning 60K RPM in a router.

  • @danielpjackson thank you

  • @ekaksana i used to work at a sign shop engraving into aly and i used oil spray system which eliminated the bur aslong as your cutter hasnt got a chip on the face either hope this helps

  • you could save much more time if you write "Z2" in your programm :)

  • Did you get melted aluminum on the edges of the words? I'm having some trouble finding the right feeds and speeds for clean cuts.

  • how much would it cost to get a single repetition commercial job done (eg a headstone plaque for a cemetary plot) cos i have to make one for a relative as the official one is $2000 and i aint got even $200 - so i was thinking of getting an engraving tool but the demos ive seen look really amateur - so now i was thinking maybe some cnc machinist could do it - but if its gonna cost $1500 then i might as well go with the official one at $2000 and get a loan or something.

    Thanks for any info anyone

  • Yes, what degree is the bit?

  • how did you make that?

  • i like the finish . do you remember where and what engraving tool you bought?
