Respectfully, the guy in the white is holding a microphone, so the original tapes would have sound on them, or alternatively there would have been a reel to reel tape recorder, recording sound, which now could be married up with the video.

Either way, it's a nice recording of an event from a long time ago :)

  • I like that they are in regular street clothes. Yes, Cheng Man-chings version of Yang style is very effective and efficient not only for health but in self-defense. check out Sifu William Phillips website "Patience Tai Chi" he offers two dvd's that are very enlightening.

  • nice to see real push hands. thanx for posting these. no sound is perfect.

  • In fact, I have ever think that Yang style is not applicable for real fighting. Now, I see the serious practice on Tui Sou. I would like to salute Cheng Man Ching. However, you could not find detail from his book. But for this clip, contribute many understanding on Yang style.

  • Hi BobFermor01, where is your teacher Deng Er Qian teaching now? My instructor Cao Shu Wei is a disciple of Ye Da Mi who is also know Deng Ke Yu very well.

  • Thanks for posting this. It's really cool to see the Professor in a teaching setting.

  • Fantastic Footage my Teacher Deng Er Qian's Father Deng ke Yu, Deng Ke Yu & Chen Man Ching were very close friends in Shanghai Deng Ke Yu was a direct Disciple of Yang Chen Fu but loved playing Tui Sau with Chen Man Ching now i can see why.

    All the best Bob Fermor
