Ray had and still has this amazing ability to take just about any situation and make a song about it.

Even about divorce. Even about getting shot in the leg and lying in a hospital. Even about getting robbed by the music industry robber barons.

@firstcat No man, there is a plodding optimism that shines through. That's the beauty of The Kink's music. It's the art that's important, not the money. That's what kept them goming. Blacklisted by unions, concept album phase, etc. True artists create because they are compelled to. Years after a lesser man might have had nothing to say, or had been beaten down, or decided to rest on their laurals and enjoy their success Ray still had something to say in a way that makes you feel good.
