For many many years DFDhas specked a Booster tank, pump and reel for their ladder trucks. It been a taticaly smart thing to do. Before 1 1/2 and 1 3/4 hose was preconnected a lot of cities would use the Truck Company's Booster to either hold the fire or even put it out while the engine company was laying out. DFD and a lot of other cities found it worked for them on grass amd cars, especially when the Engine was not availible. Nashville, and Memphis di it for years.

@fireman7003 Ohhhh boy, you got me on the spelling error. Makes you feel like a big man I bet. I have a feeling your not with the F.D.N.Y. For 1, your bashing a great Dept. That has more fire per capita than N.Y.C and its all Ghetto firefighting not High rise's. And what's with the name calling, So personal don't you think???

@ffan102 There's a difference between fighting mini abandoned row home fires and high-rise fires. Come to NY and I'll show you how we roll.
P.S.: It's you're not your... learn to spell, it might make me believe you more.

Really a booster line, looks like they would catch up with the times, There is a reason they are no longer put in trucks....

@Nebo424 booster lines work very well in the big D.that way when the little fire is out you can go to the big fire quickly, and believe me Detroit goes from fire to fire all the time.

I'm not a fire fighter, but it doesn't seem logical to me to spray the fire from behind toward the apparatus. Am I wrong?
It looks like they're just using a garden hose too. haha

The hose is called a red line it is a smaller hose for smaller fires or for fast knock down of big fires, it is pre connected to the truck for kwik water
